Christopher Soer entered the organ building industry as an apprentice voicer at Wicks Organ Company in 2005. Studying under Mark Scholtz for voicing, Christopher trained as a flue voicer (specifically strings) and tonal finisher. In 2008, Christopher was made Shop Superintendent where he managed over 40 projects from design to installation. Later in 2010, Christopher was made Pricing Agent and then Vice President after studying organ company management and procedure under John Sperling. In 2013 Christopher joined the team of Quimby Pipe Organs as their General Manager. He assisted in the installation and building of the company’s instruments during that time period, especially the organs for Catalina United Methodist Church in Tucson Arizona and Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago Illinois. He served in that position until 2017 when he formed his own firm. Christopher has studied and enjoys drafting and design, scaling and tonal design, service and tuning, casting metal. He is the proud owner of the remaining Kilgen Organ Company records and is a versed historian of the Wicks Organ Company among others.
